Who is Wesley Huff?

Wesley Huff was born in Multan, Pakistan, and spent a portion of his childhood in the Middle East. After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition at the age of eleven that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Wes experienced a miraculous recovery for which the doctors themselves had no medical explanation. This experience, along with a great deal of study and soul searching in his later teen years, solidified his interest in faith and in engaging the beliefs and worldview perspectives of others. He spent his high school years in Northern Ontario and currently lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife and three children.

Wesley is currently the Central Canada Director for Apologetics Canada and has been a guest on a variety of public platforms, from The Joe Rogan Experience, the Patrick Bet David Podcast, and the Julian Dorey Podcast to Apologia Radio and Blurry Creatures Podcast. He has participated in numerous public dialogues, debates, and interfaith events on issues of belief and religion across North America.

He holds a BA in sociology from York University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale University, and is currently doing a PhD in New Testament at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College.

Shawn Ryan is a former Navy Seal and CIA Special Operator. He is on a journey with Jesus. He has a massive following, and Jesus is meeting him exactly where he is at!

So What Does This Mean?

This two podcast episodes are non-Christian, but are reaching millions. The message of Jesus, and curiosity about who He is and what He is doing is rising quickly. What is really interesting is that both of these podcasts primary audiences are men.

The Lord wants to reach men in this season.

He is doing it in a way that we haven’t seen before, but isn’t that just like God? In this season, in this culture, in this context… He is reaching men. The rise of individuals like Jordan Peterson sparked some of this, but it is now being carried by voices who are hungry and searching… so how can we lean into this move amongst men?

My recommendation?

Watch these podcasts. Start having these conversations with men. You don’t have to have all the answers. Read broadly, speak honestly, and don’t be afraid to challenge.

I just finished reading the Bible in 30 days. It was a challenge… I put out the call to particularly men in our church, and had 85 join the plan, and it looks like 73 will finish. Set the bar high, challenge the heart and the mind and create spaces for crazy conversation.
