The Easter aftershock is real—here’s how to fight it

You’re not crazy. You’re just human. Let’s push through the fog together.

In partnership with

Pastor, can I be real with you for a second?

You poured your heart out. You fasted, prayed, preached like your life depended on it. Easter came, and God moved.

But now… it’s Monday.

The inbox is full.

The dopamine is gone.

And the little voice in your head keeps asking, “Was it even worth it?”

Let me tell you what I believe with everything in me: YES. IT. WAS.

But the post-Easter slump is real.

We don’t talk about it enough—but you’re not the only one walking through the fog right now.

So I put together 5 things to fight the slump—not just as a checklist, but as a lifeline:

1. Remember the Assignment

You weren’t called to go viral. You were called to be faithful.

Impact isn’t always visible—but it’s always eternal.

2. Celebrate What Did Happen

Don’t downplay the salvations, the seeds, the steps forward.

Heaven celebrates one lost soul. You should too.

3. Rest Without Guilt

You’re not weak for needing rest. You’re wise.

Jesus rose from the grave. You can take a nap.

4. Don’t Compare the Harvest

God didn’t ask you to steward their results—He asked you to steward His call on your life.

5. Get Back in the Dirt

The work of the Gospel is gritty. Messy. Beautiful.

When the high wears off, the habit kicks in. Get back to sowing.

Pastor, don’t misdiagnose the slump. It’s not defeat—it’s just depletion.

And the good news?

You’re not alone.

You’ve got breath in your lungs, fire in your bones, and more seeds to sow.

So take a deep breath.

He’s not done with you.

Not even close.

Let’s keep leading. Let’s keep going.

P.S. If this hit home, forward it to a pastor friend who needs a reminder. And if you’re not already signed up for Leadership Essentials, [join the movement here]. You’ll get weekly encouragement like this—plus resources to help you lead with clarity, courage, and consistency.

Not conservative. Not liberal. Just Christian.
