Complexity often feels impressive when a church is small.
More meetings. More steps. More approvals. More information.
But everything added must eventually be communicated, managed and repeated. If something doesn’t meaningfully advance the mission, remove it.

Remove friction before adding effort
When a process isn’t working, the instinct is usually to ask people to try harder.
But effort can’t permanently compensate for unnecessary friction.
Fix unclear instructions, broken handoffs, slow approvals and confusing pathways before demanding more energy from your team.

Prepare before pressure arrives
Great leaders don’t wait until the room is full to think about capacity.
They clarify ownership, strengthen systems and develop leaders while there is still room to learn.
September will reveal whether your church prepared for momentum or merely hoped for it.

Look for the process your team regularly complains about, avoids or works around.
The workaround may be telling you more than the written process.
